 В апреле этого года сценарист мультсериала «Аватар: Легенда об Аанге» Аарон Эхаз (сейчас занимается «Принцем-драконом») спустя много лет после завершения истории неожиданно рассказал, что они с командой шоураннеров Брайаном Кониецко и Майклом Данте ДиМартино разрабатывали и четвёртый сезон. Но работу над ним пришлось отложить из-за грядущего фильма Шьямалана.

В начале июля в интервью порталу Den of Geek Эхаз поделился ещё некоторыми идеями, которые могли лечь в основу продолжения.

• Авторы планировали развернуть сюжетную линию, посвящённую реабилитации Азулы, сестры принца Зуко.
• Эхаз собирался показать некие последствия поступка Аанга, когда тот лишил силы Хозяина огня Озая. «Мне кажется, у подобных действий всегда должна быть цена, верно? Всегда должен быть баланс». Сценарист уверен, что нельзя просто так разбрасываться силой Аватара, которая дарована для защиты мира.
• Аангу пришлось бы бороться с проявлением негативных качеств вроде гнева и чувства вины. И на помощь ему бы пришёл Зуко, который научился справляться с собственными эмоциями......
