The popular text editor Notepad++ has found itself at the center of a cyberscandal: attackers managed to infiltrate the update chain and spread malware undetected for almost six months. As it later turned out, the attack began in the summer of 2025 and affected only a limited number of users, allowing it to remain undetected for a long time.
Anything can happen, and it's good that the problem was finally found and the program will be restored to its original state. Viruses are certainly present.
